They used a Group 1   6 volt.  I have an Optima in mine, have to lean it to make it fit.  I live in Iowa, what town did you find the car in?

Maybe I got the last laugh on him.  Somewhere in the middle 80s i sold him a 1936 Massey Harris Challenger farm tractor.  He came and looked at it and bought it.  He still had a family farm near Monticello, Iowa and it was a tractor like his dad had back in the 30's.  It was a pretty good tractor.

The Pontiac Master Parts book lists five different hood springs from 1941-48 depending on year and style number.  Buyer beware!

[Bendix Treadle-Vac]

My 1956 Pontiac has a Bendix Treadle-Vac. power brake system.  I had it rebuilt in 1984 and it worked fine until this spring.  It didn't have much pedal and was low on fluid.  I added fluid, but it didn't help.  I ordered a rebuild kit and had a local shop rebuild it.  The car stops good, but it takes more pressure on the pedal than in the past.  Any thoughts on what might have changed and what to look for?  Thanks!

Pontiac and Olds DID NOT share engine parts.

Any help identifying this NOS switch?  Most of the obsolete parts I bought over the years were from Pontiac dealers.

[41 Olds horn wire in steering column]

The piece you have marked as a bushing is actually the upper steering shaft brg assy, Group 6.521.  The horn wire is soldered to the brass part on the inside and goes through the steering tube beside the steering shaft.  You will probably ruin the bearing getting it out. If it is the same bearing as Pontiac used, I probably have a NOS one.  Kurt 641-648-9086

Call Terrill Machine in Texas 254-893-2610.  They rebuild them and are a reputable company.

No.  They usually do not go bad, so I never found many in the dealerships I bought out.
