Anyone have a good trick to get a stuck wooden spoke wheel off of a victory six? Of course, the last one to be taken off doesn't want to come loose. Is there a puller that someone has made? Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated! My husband is heating & cooling the metal right now & I'm afraid he'll burn the wood! We've also tried pounding the metal from both sides & have unhooked the brake lines. We also tried using the tightening bolts on the back side to loosen up the brake pads with no luck. HELP!!

That is very cool Jim! We have a photo book of the town I live in called "Sault Ste Marie Then and Now". It is so cool to be able to see the old photos compared to the current day! Thanks for posting the "Now"!

Wonderful car!! I agree with the guys, do what you need to keep it from rusting further, but otherwise, I wouldn't change a thing either! Great car!!

Love the picture....don't care where ya found it!

That's interesting what you guys say, because I have the opposite than what he has. My car # indicates the car should be a 1929 series, but it is currently titled 1928. I'm waiting to receive my build car to see what it says before doing anything.

I looked at the info in the CD and the color seems to be way off from what the car actually is. And the previous owner has said that the car has always been the forrest green and cream. The interior seems to be like an olive green color.
The CD talks of shades of blue according to serial number. Which this car shows no shades of blue anywhere on it. The fenders are primered currently.

Two Classics, One Car - Video Library - The New York Times
The web address is for a video of a lady with a 1930 Packard. Now, I know this is the DB forum, but I know a lot of you guys will appreciate a lot of what the lady has to say in the video! She's 101 and still drives her car and many other things she talks about. It is a great video and anyone with this era car would appreciate it! Enjoy as we did!

Yes, the first pic you have John is of my car.

Would they have painted the car cream with green inserts and then decide during the process to change the colors around? The whole car is green with the cream just under the windows. I would like to be able to restore it back to original colors but this has us wondering what is correct!
I do like the idea of maybe cleaning a spot up with the CLR. Interesting idea. I'm getting the build card from Danielle at the Chrysler museum but she said there was no way to decode. So I unfortunately will not know the real color of the car.
Thanks, I knew you guys would have some ideas.

Hi guys, so the car is finally home in the garage! Blown away by how good of shape this car is!!
So, we were looking the car over. I was told by previous owners that the car has always been the forrest green and cream. I've attached a couple of photos that have my husband and I perplexed. The way some of the green has rubbed off around the edges of the windows almost make us think it may have been cream before. There's always what appears to be some pinstriping under the cream in the insert. What are your thoughts on this?
Thanks, Shannon

I look forward to getting to meet everyone that can make it to Detroit in 2014!! I won't say anything about my 5 hour drive south to get there!!

Ohhhhhhh!!! I get it! Was there a reason for being designed this way? I think my husband will find it interesting too! Thanks guys!

Can one of you guys answer this for me? (I know....that really is a dumb question here!) I asked my husband cause he's a mechanic & I got a blank stare! I've read the engine on the Victory Six is one of these & I was wanting to know why it's called that. I understand V8's, flat-heads and all that stuff, but not sure on this one. Thanks! Shannon

Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be able to bring home our 1928/1929 Victory Six DeLuxe Sedan! I CANNOT wait!! I'm so tired of working on the spare garage, but it needs to be done to get the car home!

Yes, John, you need to get cracking!! You only have 3 years!! But I'm one to talk.....I still haven't gotten mine home yet!

My understanding is it is being planned for right here in Michigan in Detroit for the 100th Anniversary. I'm hoping to be able to bring my car down from where I live in the Upper Pennisula of MI. I imagine there is someone on here that knows more about what's going on than I do! But that is what I have been told!

Wow....reserve was not met!! Yikes! I wonder what they thought that thing was worth! Geeesh! Oh....and why can people not use proper english & spell check when they do an ad to sell something? That really bugs me!
Anyone know how to get a hold of the AACA standards? I'm curious as to what they are all about.

Wow.....beautiful car!

 Oh you haven't met my daughter! She's not your typical girl. She's an artist. She plays viola & acoustic guitar but also works on her own dirt bike & snowmobile. And she's looking forward to helping me with the car!! She HATES dresses!! And I am not kidding when I say HATES! She would kill me if I made her do that for the meet!! But I think I'm seriously going to look into the 2012 meet. I've always wanted to go out east & this is a great opportunity to do so!

Too funny!! Love the sense of humor here!!
I have since found out that my daughter (age 14) wants to go to next year's meet with us if we go! So much for our getaway together! But, that's alright....if it means she'll take car of the Victory when I'm gone, I'll be more than glad to bring her! I wonder if I can get her to wear period dress?!?! hehehe

OK....I know I'm a girl & we're not supposed to know a ton about cars & the engines, but that was a pretty amazing video. My husband was even impressed! He's a mechanic & could understand what all he was doing! Very cool.....I'm with you Joe, what was in his drinks & can I have some?
-
 Wow! I even had to put shades on to look at the photo!! That's some collection! And I think you guys are correct....what if you do live to 206? Of course once you sell the caps....everyone is going to want them!! There has to be some happy medium that you can sell some of each and still make the meet!
And I will say Thank You for removing them from the flower bed for your wife!! I have my own flowerbeds and would be happy my husband removed his stuff from my flowers!!
This thread has gotten way too commical!!

For the first time in some time we had no snow on the ground at Thanksgiving up here is the UP of MI! I thin 40's is what they were saying. Doesn't seem right, but I won't complain! We have a long enough winter as is!
