    Hi Eric

The 1940- 41 Buick Series 70 cars are now Full Classics as well, so if that is the only reason to swap, you may not need to do so.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks so much, yes I am aware, I have a small 5 car collection and don’t need a second convertible so would really like to get a sedan in this slot. Thanks so much!

  2. I ended up with the 41 76C from Old Forge, I have been very pleased with the car. It needed some minimal mechanical recommissioning but runs like a champ now. I am currently working on the installation of the Fog Lights, tracking down that switch for the dash was a job! The hood definitely needs paint. It’s a mini rly deteriorated restoration that’s a delightful car to drive. Someone clearly invested in it when it was spruced up originally. Cheers!

Ford did too, for the 1963 Galaxie.  Got them more rubber isolation and special strut rod bushings (which would fail with age . . . not solid, but had "voids" for a controlled compression to decrease impact harshness).

Perhaps tube shocks from an application other than a '56 might be investigated?  Possibly from an Olds with a similar frame configuration?  Got to be something so others are not "following the bouncing tail lights".  Whre's Brad54 and his special anti-sway bars???

Mine is riding just fine. Probably because it isn't a Ford. ;)

  4. For what its worth, I think it being a Stick is very cool.  While not correct, I would love to find a Standard Shift and put it in my Roadmaster.  I think Black and White looks good on a 55! ;)

I would love to see more of this car as it comes along.

    Thank you for sharing!

  5. Oh, that's right -- '55 Supers had the 4v carb, too . . . Just an example of what was clearly the beginning of GM's long downward spiral by virtue of blurring its previously distinct make/model differentiations. 1955 Brought us Chevys and Pontiacs as impressive and handsome as Buicks and Cadillacs, with equivalent engines . . . the firrst of many subsequent lower-priced cars that could outperform the more expensive makes . . . and, among other muddlings, mid-level Buicks with 4 portholes and 4 barrel carbs just like the Roadmasters . . . What were they thinking of?

I am sure they were thinking SALES! They sold 85K of these and 29K of their Roadmaster brethren. haha!
