Very cool find. I found a similar tag in the seat springs of my Dodge. Keep it out of the light to preserve its good condition.

Because it’s not a Model T or A nobody is gonna know what’s correct or not. I’ve got Plymouth running boards on my Dodge, nobody knows the difference.

Hi Wayne,
Beautiful planning and craftsmanship! That's amazing work... WOW
I know I'll get bashed for saying this but I am curious about a couple of things.
Now, about the elephant in the room....
Serious question: Is that pink, or was the color you chose an option in 1930?
I know the PDF said Maroon but it doesn't say specifically if the color chose was an option or not.
My apologies but I can't help ask, why take such a rare car and change the color so drastically when you have the build sheet that says otherwise or why someone would deter that much from originality if they are part of the Dodge Brothers Club. Do we no longer care about originality and/or documentation?
Yes, as the owner you can do whatever you want (and have), but I beg you to rethink the color choice.
Sure black is boring and overdone but if that was the original color why wouldn't you want to keep it as original as possible as a true representation to the Dodge Brothers brand of that era?
Again, beautiful work, it looks stunning.
Sorry for being brutally honest but I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking it.Regards
Dave
Forty years ago my younger self posed the original color question to an owner of an incredible three tone red early 30’s Packard touring car. He didn’t blast me ( although I deserved it ) but let’s just say I now keep those thoughts to myself.

I learned on a GMC single screw tractor with a Detroit 2 stroke and a 13 speed Roadranger. That thing was a missile without the trailer.

Ten years ago while sourcing parts for my ‘36 Dodge I used eBay extensively and collected everything I needed to complete the car. True, nothing rare to find but I’m grateful to all the sellers and the platform for assisting me in the quest. It’s unfortunate there’s always a few jerks out there but that’s just life in America.

Free museum but I recommend taking the tour ($10)because you learn the story of the company and the man who’s made it his mission to save it. Many cars now to see in the showroom too. It’s remarkable they closed the company and locked everything up instead of liquidating all the stock. Its all there to see.

Auto Color Library is a great way to go. I picked an original color I liked, had them make me a “spray out card” sample, that’s an easy way to make a decision. The card is like 5”x7” in size. You can hold it up out in the sun, next to the upholstery etc. I was going insane on a color decision until I went down this road. Then I took the card into the paint store and they mixed a small amount, shot and cleared the headlight bucket and knew I had the right choice.

I always loved these big Chevys. This one was in the neighborhood and I always drooled as I walked the dog past it.(pun intended) It’s no mystery they are low production because the pony car thing hosed the sales of large performance cars.

Happy to carry the torch for you, keiser31. This car was factory ordered with 6 www tires and painted a lighter shade of green. I think the Palm Green poly works better.

I love owning a Chrysler product especially when it’s time to pull a transmission. Ask anyone who owns a Ford or GM product of the era how they like transmission removal!

This was a very nice car. Just needs to lose the white walls. I’m not surprised he was able to sell it fairly easily.
Absolutely. I met Matt there at the car and told him I thought that was a good price. Came back the next day…SOLD.

Hi TAKerry,
This was my first visit to Hershey and due to plans of my fellow travelers we had to leave Thursday morning. It’s disappointing to miss out on the show. I’d love to see a pic of your show car if you could?
Steve.

Phil,
If it’s anything like a ‘36, I installed the center bar first. They sorta look alike but I wish I could help.

Gary,
You owe it to yourself to start a new thread. Better results guaranteed.

Thanks Steve! I ordered this and will install it when it arrives. I am not certain if I like the look or not, but we will see!
If it stops your paint from being scorched it’s worth it. I had one I could’ve given you a month ago, but all that stuff is history now. Sorry.

How about one of these from Robert’s Motor Parts?…

Can you imagine having a car for 2.5 years and not knowing how to properly stow the convertible top? I am embarrassed to say the least. Sheesh.
Joe
Well, being as how the rest of us are sitting on the outside looking in, you are still in the enviable position as owner of that fine convertible coupe!

I bet your speedo is not correct because the rear axle is not from a car with over drive. Chrysler seams to have changed the ratios on these a lot. The 4 dr. cars are also different. I have seem at least these 3 different ratios. There may be more.
ERIC
These parts are easily swapped alright. My ‘36 Dodge sedan speedo reads 10 mph slow at actual 60 mph.
But back to Joes speedometer, the rpm’s are set with the speed meaning if other rear ends were available there would have to be different speedos per axle offering, right?
I'd Like to Finish This Restoration Before I'm...you know.

Last year three body shops (at least) closed in North Seattle. I spoke with the owner and they said they advertised for workers offering on the job training for body and paint. No takers! It’s like there are two types of people now, tech types making $150k and up or homeless living in a tent getting free food and a $600 month government check. I’ve retired and moved away.
