  1. Thanks for the identification Dave. This is a great site because of the diverse interests. I have a few other parts that have stumped me and will look for help as I sort them out.
  2. Here are some photos of one of the hinges/latches that I cleaned up. It was a nuisance to clean, but the chrome is excellent since it was under a wax/oil coating for over 70 years. Still could only find the patent number and no other ID. The plate visible on the bottom is spring loaded, so I believe this is some sort of a trunk or hood latch. I hope someone can recognize the part now that the shape is clear.
  3. Thanks for the hint. I've now found that 1827319 is a US patent for a trunk latch. The patent was granted October 13, 1931 so it is at least 1930's or newer, but still don't know the application. May even be for an accessory trunk? I'll take the rust grease coating off of one and post a clean picture in case this helps with the identification.
  4. These are two new parts which are still in protective grease and paper. I believe they are a pair of trunk or hood hinges for an American car, but don't know the application - hope you can help. Each hinge is about 7.0 inches long and 1.25 inches wide at the middle. The long piece has cast identification as follows: MICHIGAN in a rectangular box outline then USA and No 1827319 (not sure if patent or part number). The hole in the large boss in the longer piece goes through and there is also a spring loaded paddle next to the boss on the bottom side. The shorter piece has two threaded mounting holes on the bottom side only. I hope the distinctive shape will be enough for someone to recognize.
  5. In case someone knows military part codes, the handles painted army green have number 8F-660 hand written on the back in white lettering.
  6. Here are the photos. Thought I could use images from my AACA album but they didn't seem to load - hope they show up this time.
  7. I'm trying to assist in identifying a collection of mostly NOS trim and door handles from about late 1930's to early 1960's. I think most of the parts are British, but I've identified several American pieces also. Hope someone can identify these handles by the unique shape. They are about six inches long and the ones with locks have keys marked WILMOT BRANDON on one side and UNION (brand name?) on the other side along with words Made in England. I also have several which are identical to the non-locking one shown but painted (military?) green, so they may be WWII eera?
