In 1925 Hupmobile went to hydraulic brakes on the new 8 cyl model E, but due to sand holes in the master cyl. went back to what was referred to as Steel draulic cable and rods.

I just had some time on my hands ,so I read this article. Interesting that know one mentioned that the car appeared to only use 2nd and 3 rd gear as the straight line design of the shifter would indicate. Straight forward, no 1st or reverse. Look at the picture on page 2 , am I seeing this correct?

The headlight glass is from a 1923 Willya Knight Model 64. The badge is also from the same model. It is on the spare tire holder in the rear of the car. I do not know what year the stop light is , but i would sure like it for my W/K 1923 Model 64 roadster pickup. please Pm me with a price if you would like to sell it. Thank you Chuck M

A while ago I received a call from a fellow member of the Hupp Club. He said that a new member needed help getting his Hupp running. We got it running. Then he said to me that he was told that I made new upholstery for 4 of my own cars. I told him that I was a novice at upholstery, not an EXPERT. He said that he did not want to have the car judged so it did not require an expert to do the work. I started on the passenger seat. I am happy with the outcome. This seat has a foot in the back that sits on the floor. It also folds to the front to allow the passenger to climb into the back seat.
PS. the wife says you are 80 years old, I think you should make this your last upholstery job.

I was stationed at Westover until Jan 1961 in the Air Force, never happened to see his garage.

As a charter member of the Hupmobile Club started in 1970 and have gone to over 20 meets and tours all over the U.S and Canada I have only seen one 19111 coupe in person. That 1 is in the Henry Ford museum. I only have one Hupp roster here in our Fl. winter home. It's from 2015. There are no coupes listed in the roster. So , that being said, that makes them pretty rare.

It also drives as good as it looks, we had a little magic called an over drive. 60 mph. was easily attained and great 4 wheel brakes. Before my friend gifted me the Pierce Arrow, he said you can have any of the cars I own except the Ford A coupe. I have already given it to another friend. I though about the Hupp, but he wanted me to take car of the Pierce. I have sold 2 old cars and am working on a 1928 Hupmobile duall side mount sedan getting ready to sell. This allows me to keep the Pierce for a while longer.

With all new wood and a complete restoration this is what this car can look like. The car I am posting is a Sport coupe model. It has a few different features. Disc wheels, landau irons and added chrome. It had a complete body off restoration. Every time I showed this car for my good friend, I brought him home a trophy.

You can add the ARROW, but it's still a Hupmobile. Ha Ha I like it.

With no cowl lights, I would say a 1922 Model R -7 to 10 Hupmobile.

They got married in a field on Ellsworth Hill over looking the White mountains and it was a good climb for the Pierce.

Got the shift lever back in the car and took my wife, son and daughter in law for a ride. The car ran great, went about 15 miles as I have not fixed the speedometer yet not sure just how far. Got home, shut the gas tank valve off. Ran the gas out until the engine died so the carb was empty. Drained the gas tank, removed the 2 tank plugs and cleaned the filter screens. Removed the battery and checked the antifreeze. Good for 35 deg. below zero. Got in the modern mini van and headed South.

Nfrutiger7, just curious, if you purchase this car, what are you going to do with it?

I have a new, used shift lever and will put in in the car before it is stored for the winter. I want 1 more ride before I put it in storage. Like my friend Dale used to say, ITS a HOOT to Drive.

Just now, Hupp36 said:
The model B Hupp for 1932 was the highest production model that Hupp produced. 3,581 in 1932. Very few would would have been coupes. Missing 1 running board and possibly a side mount cover. If a person had a lot of time and ambition and was good at body work, this car could be saved. I still have tooo many projects to finish or I would not let this 1 go. I hope there is a young person that wants a great car and gets it is back on the road.

My tool maker friend says he would braze it .I will let you know in the spring as its put up for the winter.

Yes, it does look like over spray. What impress's me is the good condition of the running boards.

I just caught a peek of the speedometer and it looks like 38,9?? miles. The paint on the car is called Clay Rust which was a factory color. I would love to look that car over as it could have the original paint.

If the serial # proves out to be a 1935, they only made 224 in 3 body styles, a coupe, 2 dr. sedan and a 4 dr. sedan. Not a lot of people know this but Hupmobile made a lot of great cars. My 1936 Model N is a great road car. It has an over drive factory installed and will run 60 to 70 miles an hour with no strain on the engine
