  1. According to the 1960 Ford Police and Emergency  Vehicles sales brochure the police package was only available on Fairlanes and station wagons. It was probably  possible to order police package options on other  models in order to make a sale.    The 3/8 fuel line is puzzling.    I'm not sure but I   believe the HIPO option was available late  in the model  year.   What is  the build date of your car?  Maybe an assembly line mistake or an aborted HIPO order?   Did Ford offer  a towing package in  1960?  Do  you know any of the history of this car?  Is that a  Michigan  license  plate?  Maybe the car was  originally put into service as a factory test  mule.  By the  way, great car.  It is  almost impossible to find any 1960  Ford with no rust,  in beautiful  original unrestored condition, much less a Starliner!  Congratulations on your find.  It will be interesting to follow the discussion  generated by this  post.

  2. I was a mechanic at a high volume Olds dealer in the late 1970s.  When the new car prep department was too busy the service department mechanics would perform pre delivery inspections.  Every new car had several of those type of papers laying on the floors and seats when they came off of the transporter.  I think they were used during production to guide assembly line workers.  They were normally thrown out during PDI.  Being a car guy and knowing the value of original paper work, I would neatly fold those papers and put them in the glove compartment.  My thought was that one of those cars would eventually end up in the hands of a collector.

  3. It could be something as simple as a defective bulb.  I've seen one of the filaments of a dual filament bulb fail.  When the filament breaks it contacts the other filament.  This causes a short between the parking  and turn signal lamps.  This results in the symptoms you describe.  Be sure to inspect all bulbs.

  4. I'm selling this manifold.  I know it is Chrysler corporation flathead six cylinder.  Not sure if it is car or truck use. I don't know the specific application.  It appears to be a NOS unit that has been media blasted and clear coated.  The casting number is 620954.  It measures 23 inches in length.  Please study the pictures to be sure it will work on your vehicle.  $275 includes free shipping to the lower 48 states only.  PM if interested.  Thanks.

  5. I have an extra NOS one.  I don't think it is exactly like yours but it is close.  It was included in a NOS Ford accessory installation kit from 1960.  These were equivalent to the plastic cable ties we use today.  I don't know if they are reproduced.  PM your mailing address and I'll send it to you if you're interested.

  6. This is a used period correct grille guard.  It is a nice driver quality guard.  The Crome is nice but there is some flaking of the chrome as seen in the photos. The flaking chrome was faced to the rear when it was installed on my car. It is approximately 14 inches tall.  It measures about 13 inches from center to center at the base.  I believe it is an aftermarket unit from back in the day.  I know it will fit a 1939 Plymouth.  It will probably work on many other cars of the era.  Please be sure it will fit your car. It will need re-chroming for a show car application.  The price is $75.00.  Free shipping for the lower 48 states.  Please PM if you are interested.
