Here is a quote from Diane's brother Rob, from a correspondence dated 8/2/2005:

"...We'd pulled off looking for a cool place to celebrate...rather than have the roll over happen on a sleezy stretch of Rt. 80. It was a real nice road to drive on; a fitting location for such a momentous event. We even educated Alice (to the extent we can translate these generational traditions) into the 'way cool' aspects of having the odometer turn to all zeros. I think she was impressed more by the fuss we made rather than the event, which (I suppose) is pretty reasonable..."
