Chryslerati
I have replaced bulbs and flasher. Once in a while they work but most of thetime they just light up and do not flash.
Guest Tripblk16v
Try Cleaning the contacts and put some dielectric grease in the sockets.
ghostymosty
Did you replace the flasher that plugs into the fuse block (hazard/emergency flasher unit) or the one that is clipped to the dash below the fuse block (turn signal)? The 89 TC manual lists these items in this order to check when the turn signals don't work on both sides.1. faulty fuse2. faulty flasher unit3. Loose bulkhead connector4. Loose or faulty rear wiring harness or terminals5. open circuit to flasher unit6. open circuit in feed wire to turn signal switch7. faulty switch connections8. faulty connection in switch9. open or grounded circuit in wiring to external lampsIf the hazard flashers work on both sides then you can rule out the rear wiring harness and the bulb connections. Guest LouZ
The Flasher is a load trip circuit breaker. That being said What I mean is when you turmn on the signal lights the electrical load of the bulbs heats the flasher it opens the circuit (no juice = no heat) it only takes a second and it cools off internally and makes contact again. this keeps repeating itself indefinately until you turn off the lights. AGE & USE enteres the picture and the flasher can stick open (light off) or closed (light on) or do either one sometimes. The real flasher that your car uses for signal lights is not plugged into the circuir board, (that's for emergency flashers) it is hanging on some wires, under the fuse panel or somewhere close by.. Good Luck, Lou <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />
Guest Albert
try using the electronic flashers, as they ar not so load dependent and the bi-metal heater type..whic will not work with the LED type tail lights as they do not draw enought current..
