Chrysler Flathead Starter & Generator Cross Reference

I have long block Chrysler/Desoto flathead 6. It's a 1951 237/251/265 block.

I need a starter and generator (6v). I don't have for core or rebuild.

Anyone know what other years & makes I could search for or cross reference?

This engine is in a '48 D25 (p-15 body). The car is 6v pos. ground.

What years(s) did mopar cars do away with 6v pos. gound?

If I use a '52 starter on a '48 Chrysler will the starter spin backwards?

Can you reverse polarity on the generator, or would you need to?

1956 was Chrysler's year to go to 12 volt.

No your starter wont spin backward. Wire wound starters could care less which ground is

used. Any generator can be either positive or negative ground. If you are still confused,
