Guest TheWookie
Hey everyone,I was changing out my thermostat yesterday (man what a PITA that was) and I broke the nipple off of this black piece that bolts into the manifold. I have no idea what it's called or a part number and the local auto parts stores were at a loss as to what to look for as well. I am hoping one of you guys can help me out. It has 4 nipples that come off of it. 2 pointing north and 2 pointing south. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Barney Eaton
If this is the part, it is a vacumn distribution block (my name for it) and is common on 3800 V6 engines, I am sure you can buy it new at a GM dealer but the price is much better at a salvage yard. Guest Richard D
As I recall the thermostat is held in by just one bolt and the seal is made by an O ring. The upper hose is connected to it and the radiator.
