Dave Henderson
These were found in England. An oval medallion on one says "W & G", with a clenched fist below, holding a thick shaft pointed at each end. There is an "M" below a collar at the wrist. The diameter of the rim is 5 3/16" and the mounting hole is rectangular, about 1/4" by 1 1/8". Are they in fact British, who was the maker, and what cars used these? Dave Henderson
A couple "clues", in hopes their origin and application can be determined; The bright oval on the left one is a hole for what ever illuminated them. Attachment must have been to a flat strap, judging by the hole for mounting. There was no soot or smudges inside. Any ideas?
Dave Henderson
In a search I found Westbury and Griffiths, Birmingham, England on a list of manufacturers of copper and brass items. Does that name mean anything to anyone?
