87 Regal dashlights go very dim when I turn on the headlights or parkinglights. Thanks

I am not sure if your car would have a headlight knob that you turn, or a slider on the bottom of a paddle style headlight switch, but it is possible that the dashlight dimmer switch has gotten slightly dirty. In my experience you can sometimes "play" with the adjustment a few times and thus clean it up so the dash light dimmer works correctly. It is also possible that the dash light dimmer portion of the headlight switch is beyond repair, in which case you probably need a new headlight switch.
