Fuel Indicating Problem Solved - 36 Spcl

With the help of my friend Pont35cpe, we discovered the problem with my fuel Indicating system on my 1936 Buick special.

We checked sending unit operation out of the car, fuel gauges (i have 2 of them onhand) in and out of car, wiring - both power and ground. But in the end we found the problem was that I had slightly bent the fuel gauge needle when I installed the gauge with the cluster still in the car. That's difficult to do successfully but I incorrectly thought I had done so. Turns out the needle was bent enough that it dragged on the glass and would indicate nothing. Problem solved with careful use of tweezers and installing fuel gauge into cluster with cluster out of the car.

Another thing, I can testify that the grounding of the gauge cluster and sending unit is vital, just has been mentioned on this forum numerous times.
