The Corvairs by Pininfarina in Italy. Saw one at RM auction in Monterey years ago.

I didn't realize there were two of them, a 1960 model and a later 1963 model. I saw the red one at Monterey at the RM auction but don't know what it sold for. I was curious of anybody into Corvairs know how that one got from Italy to the U.S.--if a private party bought it and brought it in? And if so what the Corvair fan had to pay for it in Italy?

I guess it fell far short of fetching what the Corvette Rondine did, that was designed by the same American designer working in Italy, Tom Tjaarda but was much better looking.

Any clues appreciated....
