Layden B
Unknown silent chain, appears new so may be worthwhile to ID. 28 links, 3/4" wide inside ( picture) (width of sprocket), pins are 3/8" c/c so believe that would be 3/4" link. Thanks for any help on what this type of chain is called and hopefully application.
Guest Al Brass
Hi Layden,I can't tell you what the chain fits but they were known as "silent chains". This one appears to be a "The Coventry" brand, an English patent eventually amalgamating with Morse I believe. If you have a close look at the side guide plates, the name will possibly be there. This chain has side guides, some had a single guide in the center. Many manufacturers used this type of chain for cam, mag and generator drives and they didn't require a tensioner. They remained in use common use from the teens right through to 60's but have been replaced by roller chains today. Other brands I can think of are LinkBelt, Morse and Renolds I think.Al
