pint4
I have a set of 4 of these metal white walls. I am told they were used in conjunction with a hubcap on a car like a Plymouth. Does anyone know what car they were used on and what is missing?
Guest rbl2
If it's what I think it is we use to call them "beauty rings". They snapped into place on the outer edge of the rim but layed against the rim and not the tire.
Jan Arnett
These were not beauty rings. Beauty rings fit on the edge these fit under the hubcaps to provide you with a white wall. They were used in the forties and were avaliable as accessories for all cars. They actually made a fake white wall that fit between the rim and tire. yirgaman
I remeber these and think they were used by Chrysler, Dodge and Desoto cars frmo 46-48 and they go on behind the hubcap. They Gave the appearance of whitewalls, but were really part of the wheel covering.
