Guest friscozephyr
I would like to remove my intake manifold ('39 LZ V12) and inspect for cracks, blown gasketts, etc. Is there anything else I should look for before reinstalling it ? I would like to also give a good cleaning and a light beadblasting to bring back the "new" aluminum look. Any advice on how to clean up the maninfold and make it look presentable. Guest imported_V12Bill
There are 2 frost plugs under the carb that sometimes corrode and are blown out. This is part of the pre heat box to warm the carb on cold days. Ther are are 4 openings to pass exhaust gas through the pre heat box. Use your sand blaster to blow out carbon that builds up in the passageways and blocks the flow of gas. Sand blast the exterior to get the Just cast look.Bill
Guest friscozephyr
Thanks Bill for the great advice. I'll let you know how it goes. Of course since this is a sunny California car we don't get "cold" engine start days.
