Help, Atlanta area old car owners: engine and trans shops

To anyone in the Atlanta/North Georgia area: I'm looking for names/recommendations of decent, reliable machine shops for old car engine and manual transmission machine work and rebuilding. I've lived in this area since 1998, but the VCCA hasn't much of a presence here, so I'm at a loss for people to ask who have had prior experience with having major rebuilding or machine work done on anything older than a mid 50's SBC V8. I'm looking for reliable engine rebuilders and/or transmissions shops that won't go into absolute shock when confronted with an engine that's not a Vee configuration and has more than four cylinders in line, or a manual transmission that has fewer than four forward speeds and maybe a B/W overdrive hanging off the tail end. If anyone has any suggestions for places they have used and/or would recommend (or just as importantly, places to stay the heck away from!) I would greatly appreciate any and all information.
