Head Gasket Position

Finally getting to putting the heads on a 303-324 and came to the conclusion I don't know if there is a correct side to be up on the head gaskets. They are copper-filler-copper gaskets. One side has the part number imprinted and the opposite side has the "crimp over" of the copper from the other side.

So, the question is "which side is up?"

If your interested, Best Gasket replied with "the smooth side is preferred down but it really doesn't make any difference".
