There is a 48 convertible for sale on ebay that does say Packard on the trunk. Is this correct? Guest imported_Packards1 Posted July 17, 2006 Share Posted July 17, 2006 Randy, the Packard block letters on the trunklid are correct for 22nd and 23rd seires. On the 23rd series models with Ultramatic Drive, they took the Packard letters off and put Ultramatic Drive on. They also added Packard lettering on the front fenders of the 23rd series models. K8096 Posted July 17, 2006 Share Posted July 17, 2006 I remember on the 1948 Custom series sedan we used to have the only place it said "Packard" on it was on the head of the engine, the rubber step mats on the door sill, and I think the horn button. It did not say "Packard" on the truck. My dad used to tell me it didn't need "Packard" written on the exterior, people KNEW what it was when they saw it!
