Trunk lifts - 311N as good as 250N?

I saw the following dialog on ebay. Has anyone tried the 311N lifts?

Q: I purchased trunk lifts from you for my TC. You sent 311N rather than the 250N that came with the car. Are these too strong? I asked this question by e-mail a week ago and have not received an answer yet.

A: Greetings: We ususlly answer all e-mails within 24 hours or less, and I can't seem to locate any with this subject. Anyway the 250N are not made by anybody at this time, and in working with Sach's they have told us the 311N are fine. We have sold at least 25 sets in the past few months and have not heard of any problems. Are you having a problem?

He did not repply to my e-mail eithor. I wrote him that the 311 N struts bent my left side trunk hinge and no repply. Here is a source for 250 N gas springs: Jason Sperry, Applications Engineer; jasons@easylift.com Part number D3D3-50-165-430/250N Price $80.46 each. Cheaper than a new hinge!!!!

Hi retired poppi, That may have been my e-mail you saw on eBay. I didn't get an answer until I when the eBay route. I have installed them. So far no problems. The trunk lid use to open about 1/4 inch. Now it opens around 1/2. Still have to get your finger tips under it to open and it still is pretty heavy.
