Guest Wayne in Malvern PA
Folks,I've found a source for the gas-filled struts for the TC: Mr. Lou's Stuff at www.autopartsbylou.com They list the TC specifically on their site, prices are reasonable, and service very quick. I ordered two hood struts which came in a couple days, are OEM (Sachs), and fit perfectly. Just ordered the storage compartment and tonneau struts as well. skydad
I bought the gas spring for the trunk lid behind the seats. Very good service. Absolutely no complaints. He sells them on ebay most of the time too.

Guest mtworkshop
I just got my trunk struts in the mail today <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> They were too strong for the application 311 newtons (vice 250 newtons origional) I was dumb enough to put them on the car. Now my left trunk hinge is sprung and the adjustment is all the way to max. Do not use anything but the proper force sas spring or you will be an unhappy camper like me!!! Lou, get your stuff togethor. The money I paid for the streuts is not near enough to pay the damage to my car from using your product.TC Club member # 3218 <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
Guest Wayne in Malvern PA
I have to say I'm surprised to hear about your problem with the trunk struts from Lou's. I've now replaced all the struts in my TC with absolutely no problems. Sounds like you got an inaccurate shipment - make sure you let him know. Guest mtworkshop
I let him know the day I got the parts (monday). "Mum" is still the word on thursday. I think that he has decided to let the buyer beware.Mike Turner
