MrRico Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 I just took on a clean and recondition project on a '40 Chevy Master Deluxe. Take a look. I have always been a Mopar muscle car kind of guy so I know nothing about this old Chevy other then basic principals. I plan to ask alot of questions. To start the project off I am trying to research what this car is. I was under the impression that I would find the cars VIN on the firewall tag just right of the engine. This tag reads: Style No 40-1211Body No S 1383Trim 86Paint 74What does this tell me? And I don't see what I think is a Vin # so where can I find that on the car? This is just the beginning guys, Thanks. Mr Rico
MrRico Posted April 26, 2006 Author Posted April 26, 2006 By the Block number 2825409 I have a 1940 216cid engine. I never thought different but I wanted to verify. Are there any good recommendations for these engines other then on the end of a chain at the back of your boat? The owner of the car is avid about using this engine. I am not sure what I can or can't do with it. Everything I find about these engines it if you want to enjoy the car, it must be upgraded. Now I don't disagree but my goal is to try and use this engine.
