Guest oakland
My 29 Oakland has a water fitting on the back side of the motor head, on the drivers side. This consists of a 1/2" nipple screwed into the head with a "T" screwed onto it. On one end of the "T" there is a plug. Out of the top of the "T" there is a reducer and a pet cock shut off valve. This is not on the back end of the head, but on the drivers side towards the fire wall. Could any one tell me what this is for? I was woundering if I could reove the fittings and install a mechanical temp. gauge bulb n there and mount a gauge under the dash.
DaveHarris
I have a 29 motor in my 28 Oakland Roadster. There was nothing in the hole in the head when I got the motor. I have installed a mechanical temperature gauge in the hole and it works fine.
Guest oakland
Thanks for the information. Now I will have to try removing the fittings and installing a mechanical temperature gauge. I will wait till spring, as the car is in storage. Thanks again.
