  1. Looking for a 1930 Chrysler motor or at least a serviceable block and cylinder head. Dave Harris, email dcharris@southnet.co.nz
  2. The W16Ys work perfectly. I have had no problems at all. I have purcahsed the W16YCs as they are the current production plug from Champion. The C is for a copper core so in theory they should actually be better. I don't think the gap is that important and either .022" or .025" would be okay, however I have two references and both say .022". I can't remember when I last checked the gap. I have been using these plugs since I got the car (12 years) and they have covered several thousand miles (about 1500 miles in the last 3 weeks!). Dave
  3. Your '29 Oaklnd will have a crossflow radiator and normally there will be no water immediately below the radiator cap. For this reason a Mto-meter will not work as it will not be in the water. Use the hole in the side of the head between 5 & 6 cylinders and put in a modern gauge. Dave
  4. Oakland I use Champion W16Y plugs in my '28 Oakland Roadster. These plugs were in the car when I obtained it in 1993 and have covered a significant mileage. They work fine. I have recently bought some new plugs. They are W16YC but as yet I haven't used them. Dave
  5. I have a 29 motor in my 28 Oakland Roadster. There was nothing in the hole in the head when I got the motor. I have installed a mechanical temperature gauge in the hole and it works fine.
