Guest wally888
I think this applies to a lot of the visitors and passer bys but it also seems to apply to numerous who visit more than once.
Many seem to visit the board regularly, post, offer help, relate their experiences and are quick to express thanks or report how their problem was solved.
This is probably not being read by those I would like to read it but, in case the rock hits you:
Many ask for help, get a lot of help, report progress BUT (this has nothing to do w/ brake help!) then seldom sum it up for us.
I know a lot of problems are solved by contributors, money saved, shortcuts found, etc.
I would like to see the attitude of the board be one of, we are more than happy to help you( think that is the attitude now)BUT,
PLEASE, let us know how it all worked out!!!
or maybe I just wanted to hit a few xtra keys tonight
hicamper
Being a new owner (3 weeks) of a 1990 Coupe, I would like to say thank you to all who post here. I have been able to locate a service manual, purchase a new cable for my antenna, order floormats from Barney, diagnose a B410 error by unplugging and replugging the alternator connector (turned off my "Electrical Problem" light).
I've learned about brake problems and preventative maintenance, why my tape deck is not working (I have to push FF to listen to the radio), and a myriad of other technical issues.
Still have a few problems. Door open/headlight on/key in ignition chimes working intermittently. And what do Reatta owners do for cup holders? Otherwise, I'm just enjoying reading and learning..and driving my car. Maybe someday I'll know enough about these cars to help someone else.
Again thanks to everyone for their help and advise.
Al Heitkamper
Oklahoma City, OK
P.S. Still waiting for my Buick Club membership to arrive so I can join the Reatta Division.
harry yarnell
I read this listing every day and occassionally post something, but I REALLY would like to get into this Teves brake debacle. I have obtained a Teves master cylinder set-up to experiment with, however I'm reluctant to tear into it as it was purchased as a parts piece for my '88. I have an electronics backround and run a restoration shop here in maryland for GM vehicles. I was involved with the Bendix anti lock brake system design back in the '70s, unfortunately it has little to compare with the german Teves system. So, you folks (Wally, et al)who are spearheading this brake problem, allow me to help as best I can. I am also investigating the adaption of the conventional vacuum assisted brake system (as seen on the Riveria of the late '80s)to the Reatta. One of my fears on making brake recommendations, is the liability issue; its possible to get sued for making a recommendation that doesn't get implimented right, or goes awry. Guest
I just want to say this is one of the best,
helpful forums I'm on. I am on quite a few
so I dont get to post very often, but I do
check it once a day. Everyone is very
helpful. The problem is some people just
want to come by every once in a while and
read, but don't post, even though they may
know the answer. The reason why is probably
the reason I won't post on a lot of boards.
FLAMING!!! Some boards everyone is into
flaming each other so much no one gets
any useful information. I hope this forum
never goes there.
just my $.02
Brad
Guest
Dear Wally--- After reading the dialogue between you and Dan, I was a bit concerned when I noticed a change in moods. As a first grade teacher, spelling mistakes jump off a page. If you refer back to Dan's signature on the post to Hicamper he signed it Dad. Knowing Dan-- he will feel terrible about the mistake and the confusion it has caused.--- Cindy
Guest
I too, dig the discussion. Often, those discussions quickly surpass my freshman year of owning a reatta, so I prefer people think I'm intelligent, rather than open my mouth and prove everyone wrong!
But all kidding aside, My first year has been entertaining.
Next year projects are:
A. Fixing ill-repaired headliner and unrepaired sunroof/moonroof.
B. Finding a replacement dark blue horn button.
C. Adding a demodulated CD changer in the trunk that works in conjuction with the touch screen radio.
More to come, after payday of course.

Gerry
Thanks to this web site, I've located a few parts, a manual, and met some good folks on Minn/Duluth Reatta Tour. I think this site is a wealth of information and a must for any serious Reatta owner. While reading site info, I'm usually thinking about how to keep my Reatta going in the future when parts are no longer available. I think we have to make notes on other auto parts that will work on our Reattas. I truly admire the body style of the Reatta and think we can improvise like the true antique owners and keep the running gear going.
This site is WONDERFUL and I hope I can do my part to keep it going. My Reatta is tucked away for the winter so I'm kind'a in the reading mode, but I'll try to get my 2 cents in now and then.
Thanks guys
Guest wally888
Well, guess it's back to the 3rd. grade for me!
I didn't notice a change in tone nor do I know what flaming means.
Has been nice to see posts bearing names I don't recognize and to know there are a lot more visiting than I suspected.
Is there a record available to indicate
how many different people visit and or post each year?
