Ok I finally got some pictures of the Caddyup, as I am calling it! It would appear from the websites that I looked at to be a 49 60 series front end. I will post what the data plate says later in the post. The Caddyup is apparently a 46-54 Chevy truck bed and rear cab, with a 60 series front end up to the door pillar. If anyone has a different opinion, I am open for theories. This vehicle has sat in the same spot for a very long time (20 plus years), so I am positive the "work" that was done was in the early 60's ish.

Data plate information:

Cadillac Motor Car Division

General Motors Corporation

Detroit, Michigan

Style No. 49-6269 X

Body No. FW 10456

Trim No. 41

Paint No. 13

Acc. K Top (Blank)

Body by Fisher

I will post several pictures of the vehicle in this post. I would appreciate any information. Here is my quandry. The vehicle has already been modified beyond being a Caddy again, so should I strip the parts, sell them and crush the rest flat, or do you think a Cadillac person can find it in their heart to restore the Caddyup as is? I have the vehicle for sale locally as is for $1200, so if someone needs parts and thinks its worth more for the parts contact me and we can talk about it.

That is an interesting custom, Rojo22. I would be interested in knowing if it was a superior coach build or someone else. I found a similar 1949 Cadillac modification or custom in the Cadillac Database, here , so take a look at it. You might also want to contact Yann Saunders through the Database or the CLC and share your pictures. That is a rare find. Are you going to restore it or mod it?

Either way, it will be a spectacular car/truck. These were not unheard of and were often special orders. If you contact Yann, include as much info as you can including the VIN, usually the engine number, and the body tag as you did above.

If it is a late model modification, that would be even more interesting!! Heck, I'm getting envious!! <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Randall thanks for the reply. I am really not sure this is a professional conversion. I would be interested though in finding out. I have sent an email to YANN so he will have the information.

This vehicle will put a grin on your face for sure. It has good proportions, and like you said is very unique. I found the truck in the link you posted done exceptionally well. Unfortunately I am not going to do anything with the vehicle but sell it. I would love to get it into the hands of a Cadillac enthusiast, someone who will appreciate it. I love the old truck, but I have my Packards to attend to. I found this out on some property that is being subdivided, and several cars were going to be crushed, this was one of them. I also found 3 1950's Kaisers, that apparently are going to be crushed due to a lack of interest.

Maybe YANN can tell us something of the car/truck.
