CAMAC
HI,
Everyone wants to make a great deal buying old cars.
What was your best deal?
I heard of a 1946 Ford for sale, so I had a buddy run me out to see it.
It was setting in the driveway of an old feed shed, the old fellow said he'd take $45.00 for it, well I paid him, he signed the title and I drove off with it.
I also bought a 1957 Chevrolet 4-dr sedan for $25.00.
I guess those would qualify for my best deals price wise.

------------------
MAC
Guest
Why do I get the feeling I'm sitting in on my son's "show and tell" class here?
John N. Packard
I drove a 52 Packard 200 sedan as my commuter car, 100 miles per day, back in the early 70s. I traded at a Mom & Pop Mobil station where I filled-up every two days. The owner obtained a 54 Pacific hardtop that he offered me for $35. When I cleaned out the trunk, I found a $5 bill! What a deal!
jnp
Guest Skyking
In 1969 I traded two used tires for a 58 Ford 2 door. I drove the Ford for 4 years. I guess those deals are long gone........
Guest 57 pontiac
Sure is strange the things that we talk about while waiting for the car shows to start. I don't get to go to one until mid June. Anyone going sooner ?
Guest
57 Pontiac: I see your a fellow Vermonter. My first show is in May at Bean Chevrolet, in Northfield VT. Don't know the date exactly, but the second Saturday sounds familiar. Keep your eye out for THE WORLD (free newspaper), they announce it every year. It's low key, no trophey but a free T-shirt! I'll look for a 57 Pontiac this year.
