Guest Posted August 18, 2002 Share Posted August 18, 2002 Hi, would anyone happen to have the Head Bolt torque specs for a 64 aluminum headed 300 V-8? I am having a little trouble with mine leaking a slight bit of antifreeze around the front of the head. I currently have the heads torqued to 80 lbs, which is the torque of the cast iron heads...???? The Old Guy Posted August 19, 2002 Share Posted August 19, 2002 The 64 shop manual states 65-70 Ft lbs for aluminum heads. These heads are prone to leak after awhile as the coolant attacks an area that is very thin.
