Guest imported_Speedster
If it is this one, that was on eBay, I almost started to bid on it until you and the other guy got into a bidding War. (Like getting between two Pitbulls, in a Fight) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...me=STRK:MEWA:IT
55PACKARD
Yeah thats the one i won on ebay do you think i paided to much for it??? i just really always want dual carb on my Packard i think it would make it perfrom a little better and plus im adding a 727 small block chrysler trans behind her this winter too, i have the trans on the way going to get it rebuilt and then im ordering the kit to convert it over so i think it should perform a hell of alot better this way what do you guys think??? Guest imported_Speedster
You paid More than I would have, But Hey, It looks like it is in Good shape, and if you want something and you have the money, Why Not. Life is to short, to pass up the Good Stuff as long as the kids don't have to go Hungry.
Guest
FWIW, the big block Mopar intakes are not even close to fitting a Packard. The Packard has a 90 degree mating surface and the Mopar is a 70 degree. The Packard intake ports are 1/4" further apart than the Mopar.I know all this because I cut a Mopar 4-bbl intake into four parts and re-welded them together, welded on a new carb flange and remachined it. Figure it cost at least $500 for the manifold, welding and machining. I did it to mount a supercharger, but if I had to do it over, I would put it on a stock Packard intake and cut out the center dividers.thnx, jv. Guest imported_Speedster
Yep, That setup would really look Cool, But I understand it's really hard to find the correct set of Carbs and linkage to go on it? (per original) (Without major modificaton and fabrication, that is.) I know 'Turbopackman' wants us to use Edelbrocks, and that would be Cool to, but it's just not Original. * Original is Always More of a Challenge* (That's why I Still got my old 2-barrel) LOL
