Guest imported_Speedster
But, Didn't Packard start calling it a 'Pelican' in '51 or was it '53? If I remember correctly the President of Packard looked up the history of the Packard Family Crest and found that it labeled the bird on top as a Pelican, so he had everyone start calling it a Pelican emblem. I prefer Cormorant tho, since the ornament designs look more like a cormorant (with long neck) than the long billed, shorter neck, Pelican. Guest 51Patty400
Ya, I agree with you on the name. The book has it listed as a Pelican but it sure soesn't look like one.- Mark
Twitch
The Cormorant is the bird that Japanese fishermen used to use to catch fish. They put a collar on the neck so the bird could not swallow big fish. They were trained to catch and return to the boat obviously and the fisherman would stick his hand in and pull out the fish. The bird could swallow smaller fish so he wasn't negatively reinforced that catching fish was a bad thing.
Guest imported_Speedster
Fishing that way would be a Lot more Fun than Waiting with a Pole. I need a new Pet anyway, since my RattleSnake Mouse-catcher died.
