Guest
Do you possibly have an original stat that dosen't work? The simplest fix is to take the bellows and the associated bracket off the metal plate that goes beteen the water manifold and the water outlet. You will find that a modern 50's - 80's fits perfectly. If you don't have an old one to use you need to make a brass plate with three holes in it. one the size to hold the flange of your new stat and two for the bolt holes. I have one original stat (NOS) that I am keeping and have used modern 195 degree stats in my daily driver since 1964. Prior to that I used modern 180 degree ones. iankhris
Thanks. I did end up putting in a new 160 degree thermostat and making and making a paper washer to make up the thickness difference. Works fine.Ian
