Guest Teamsterdug
I have an old big series straight 8 Buick spark plug cover but am not sure what years it would be correct for. Here are the specs. Any help would be appreciated. It has the Buick script logo and the firing order shown on it. The top front and top rear corners have rounded inward cutouts. Total length of 33 &3/8" X 3" wide. Bolt holes are centered 17" apart. The cover is kind of rounded from the top edge to the bottom edge. I believe this is from the late 30's. Would it be correct for 40's & 50's too? Or did they have a more squared taper to them like the smaller series engines had in the 50's? If my discription is too vague I will try and post a picture. Thanks.
palbuick
The rounded covers are from 1936 through 1940 Big and small series. The covers with the flat face is from 1941 through 1953 Straight eights , small and large series. The only difference is the length, the 320 ci motors are about 33" long and the smaller series are shorter.Jim Schilf palbuick
