Guest herkamer
I have a 55 Buick (264 cu in) without a harmonic balancer and another 55 Buick (322 cu in ) with a harmonic balancer. Maybe a dumb question and it may have been address previously on this site but I was not able to find the answer. I am trying to put A/C on my driver with 264 cu in. I can adapt a three grooved crankshaft pulley to the harmonic balancer if it will not cause any problems. My question is just that--- can I put the harmonic balancer on the 264 without causing any problems? HELP!! Thanks, Carl S----------

Mrbuick714
I just went to my parts book and checked. A 264 V8 engine MUST have a 264 harmonic balancer. As I recall, each displacement of the vertical-valve engine has its own harmonic balancer. Check with "Wheatbelt"(ad in Bugle). Ken Reeves could probably help you.
