elabelle Posted August 20, 2004 Share Posted August 20, 2004 1920s Vansicklen 75mph speedometer w/ triptic & Elgin watch attached. Have a problem with mating the female fine threaded angle drive to the male threaded barrel at the side of the spedo case. Barrel seeems to be cast with the spedoframe. The barrel and angle drive threads are pot metal. Threads look o.k., nocross threads. Can make the threads work at only one spot that causes the spedo cable connection to point at the floor boards & away from the firewall. Cable too short. Are the threads just worn. Any ideas?
