hOPELess
Anyone have any experience using AutoAir waterborne paints by Createx? Looks like they have a wide variety of colors. Any remarks good or bad. [color:\\"blue\\"]
Tom Deering
I've only had experience with water-based paint on one car. This was a white '84 Camaro assembled in Van Nuys. It was undoubtedly the worst material I experienced in a half century of new car purchases. After a period of four years, it was impossible to maintain a gloss on that car for more than week. There was one other car that had a worse factory paint job. It was a '77 Thunderbird built in Pico Rivera. Strange coincidence that the two worst factory paint jobs were from facilities within the South Coast Air Quality Management District. Apparently both Ford and G.M. gave up on painting cars in L.A., because both facilities are closed. As stated previously; my experience was with a white car. The metallic colored cars that came out of that plant with water-base paint looked like a camoflage gloss after a few months of outdoor exposure. Tom D.
