engine identification

I recently bought a 32 PB the engine has been changed from the org. I am trying to find out what it is out of and production year, I think it is a dodge engine. The # is D2-I06484 thanks for the help kbbad

Someone can tell you the right year from the numbers you gave but I have no idea how to figure out these #'s. The D at the beginning confirms that it's a Dodge. The way I figure out the year is to scratch off the caked-on grease below the distributor on the block. There should be 3 sets of numbers,

ex: 7-16-49 (July-16-1949).

The "D2" is for a 1936 Dodge 217.8-cid flathead six, the same engine U.S.-built Plymouths used from 1942 to mid-1953.

Your PB Plymouth came with a 196.1-cid flathead four.
