Torsion bar Motor???

The car moves up or down when the motor turns the gear reduction. If the motor doesn't turn, the car won't change position.

Now all this is different if you have the AIR-RIDE that Packard had in 55-56. This from a looker at the local cruise whose uncle "had one of them Packards with the AIR-RIDE". <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" /> I think if you disconnect THAT motor you let all the air out <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

[color:"red"] EXCEPT for inertia and friction.

Since the Packard T-L is not frictionless, the ride height will remain where it last was. If you disconnect the T-L compensator then the ride height will not return to the neutral position from the last dynamic position.
