Need part number identification

I have a set of NOS in box, metal leaf spring covers 1656174x1, I can't find that number in any of my part catalogs, a five drawer file cab full! They look to be late 1940's vintage and I get a lot of flack from wife about what good are the drawers of books. I am beginning to wonder if they are service parts not listed in year of mfg chassis catalog? Can anyone tell me year & model application? Stude8

Are you sure the part number you listed is correct. The October 1, 1968 (yes, that's right 1968, they kept selling parts after the car business was discontinued) Studebaker Parts and Accessories Price List, Book "F", shows a 1656164X1-Cover. Unfortunately I can't find that number in any of the parts books either, but generally numbers of that type were for the late (1963+/-)Studebaker trucks. Perhaps this might even have a military truck application, I don't have the military parts books.
