Guest 40-41 connies
I have pulled my heads on my 1936 and on one bank, I have two hairline cracks in the block. Both run from the center piston holes to the exhaust valve seat. The oil is o.k with no water in it. The valve area where the crack runs to is a little rust colored.Does anyone have a suggestion to repair these cracks. I would like to repair them before installing new rings in the engine. Thanks, Pete
Guest 31tudor
You definetly need to repair the cracks before reassembly! The good news is that the block CAN be fixed. The bad news is nobody will touch it unless it's a bare block. It may be tough finding someone who will perform the repair, depending on where you live.
