jerryacheson
I need your help. I want to put 1" WW radial tires on my 62 Electra (yea I know it takes bias tires but I want the original look and have safety and comfort too.) Anybody know where I can get some? (No, Coker doesn't sell them.)
There's a guy in the south (Arkansas?) that custom builds tires. I've discussed having him build me as set some time back but I've lost track of him. Anybody have an idea who this is and how I can get ahold of him?
Thanks for your help.
Guest
Jerry,
Sorry I don't have your answer, but this is a good thread. I have a 65 Riviera, and am trying to find a new set of tires as well, with the old tread, which I think looks much better than newer tires.
The one I am speaking of is very thin tread grooves, close together, lot's. The tires look "classier" than newer "sporty" tires.
Hopefully someone will come up with an answer.
our51super
Have you tried Diamondback Classics? http://www.widewhitewalltires.com/
They may be able to help.
There are a few more vintage tire places I can't think of right now but I can check an Old Car Weekly magazine tonight and get back to you.
