Guest
I need to replace the rear wheel bearings in my 1969 Chevy C20 4X2 with the HO52 axle. The original bearings are NDH 11786 and NDH 11630Z self-aligning bearings, but all the replacements I find are regular tapered roller bearings. Will the tapered roller bearings work as well, or should I look for the originals (NDH went out of business 12 years ago). Thanks for any help!John Phillips johncphillips@mindspring.com
Guest
Tapered roller bearings work just fine. I did mine about 4 months ago. It's fairly expensive. Bearing were about $45-$50 per bearing. I did brakes and bearings all the way around. Cost about $700 for everything. Though about just doing an axleswap to a 14 bolt instead after adding up everything, especially if you want a locker or different gear options. I'm no expert but if you have any questions let me know. I found alot of info on www.67-72chevytrucks.com
