Hello All,
I wanted to update those of you who may have read my earlier question on whether or not the carpet padding in my 1963 Le Sabre contains asbestos.
I took a small piece of it into a testing lab and had it analyzed. A bargain at $20, I might add !!
The results ... NO ASBESTOS.
It is made up of ...
20% Animal Hair
60% Cellulose
10% Synthetic Fibers
10% Non Fibrous
... just in case anyone was wondering !
Ira

Thanks Ira!
I know there are (myself included) others who wondered/worried the same thing.
Since your's is a '63, it's fairly safe to presume that anything later doesn't contain asbestos either. Yay!
I am currious tho how you found a lab like that? And at only $20 no less!
-Scott

Goodness gracious. Was the animal hair the carpet, or was there just animal hairs from where a animal had been in it? confused.gif" border="0tongue.gif" border="0
Just kidding. I had to say it. grin.gif" border="0
[ 07-22-2001: Message edited by: Shaffer ]
