I have a 1939 GMC with  a 228 engine.. It has a 4 spd. transmission in it..  The casting number on the side is GM  5904-4  and below it is ElS-W941..  Is this a Chevrolet or GMC transmission?       I know the series 152 of the  GMC trucks which mine is do not show any 4 spd. transmissions..

 

I haven't got to the rear end yet but I was told by one of the previous owners it was a Chevrolet 3rd member..
