Install 6v vintage Frigikar AC in a 6v 1955 Studebaker

I am in the midst of installing a 1954 Frigikar under dash unit in a 1955 Studebaker sedan.

I am hoping to get advice on how to take care of details please.

The evaporator has been disassembled, cleaned and waiting final assemble.

Planning on using a Sanden compressor, probably with a 6/12 unit to power clutch.

First question is can I logically or technically replace the expansion valve with a new expansion valve which would change the inlet and outlet bore size.

This my first post I find I dont have all the pics needed.

II be back

To follow up on question

The original ex valve is a 1/4 inlet and 3/8 outlet even tho the threads on outlet are 3/4x16.

The out bore on old ex valve has a bore of .330"

I would like a new ex valve just due to age of valve.

New valve has a 3/8" inlet, so i can provide a new hard line for inlet.

The new valve appears to have threads that will match the old install, but bore size looks larger.

The old flare in the bottom of existing flare nut appears to be .660" in diameter, but tubing size is 3/8".

So my point is the new ex valve appears to bolt in, but is larger bores ....in and out.

My question is on performance of system with new slightly larger size expansion valve replacing old valve.

Will this work?

I could not find a new ex valve with original sizes.
