1960 Lincoln Continental interior tutorial (Couch, Bench bed)

Hi everyone!

So in this thread i would like to share my "knowledge" of how to fix the interior in the 1960 Lincoln (2 door).

Honestly, i have been looking places for like a year to fix a seat and carpet, and i all the places were charging me like 3500-4000 bucks for ONLY a seat or ONLY a carpet. So i was like, fck it, it's just a carpet and the seat, right?

So  i have found this seat cover for the seat (Matching size), i had some very good bed memory foam, i had a blanket, and this is how it went.

We took the seat out, it was pretty easy, only 4 bolts.

Took whatever left of the carpet to use it as the trafaret later on.

Then we ripped all the old and rotten away foam and leather that was still there just to literally clean it and bring it home.

At home i used zip locks to reinforce the springs to make the seat more "wavy" and comfy.

Then i put the memory foam on the seat (3 layers for the seat, 1 layers for your back).

There is a blanket under the seat to not tear against the springs and i used MORE zip locks to fix the foam to these springs.

I was confused on these lock zips ends that are going to poke you in your butt, but you actually can't feel them.

Then you put this cover, it has belts on the back to make it all tight.

It's not the leather, it's not the original look, but it's VERY COMFY.

If i'd knew how to sew, i'd split these back seats, but ughhh it looking good it is.

Then i went to the Home Depot and got 13.5 foot of the blue carpet which was like 40 bucks i think?

So, the moral of the story - with the wires for the bluetooth speaker, that going inot the glovebox and one is going to the under the seat is - like a 100 bucks.

Easy peasy. The 3 things that needs to be done is - doors carpet, the ceiling and the dashboard T-trim, which i think you need to take the whole dashboard apart

Here is how it looks with the seat.

I think i am going to leave the ceiling and the T-trim alone for now, just going to fix the door panels.

Then clean everything as much as possible and then it is going to be a whole different car.
