Yes Nickel.
The reflectors were done by Frank Nance plating near Pittsburgh PA.
Below another batch of parts I had plated at Niagara Plating. Niagara Falls, NY.
Each time I have had plating done there has been a decided bump in price.
With the estimates I was given I chose not to replate the incorrect 1926 Master Radiator shell and painted it instead. Also, the bumpers I had previously posted on which would have cost thousands instead of hundreds for the powder coating I had done.
When I had my 1925 Standard shell done in 2016 LeBrandi's quoted me $650 and 4 week turn around. It ended up being $829. and 8 weeks+. My Standard (modern) recore was $695. in 2019. My Master recore in 2021 was over $900. I also had to source a better radiator since the 1925 tanks were junk.
Top cast iron inlet. The original 1925 shell with cobbled up brazed patches.
I do have 1926 tanks being used. Even though the tanks were better they still needed straightened.
A puller I made to pull up the mashed in filler neck.
The 1926 radiator had a bad core but better tanks. I painted the shell with the brightest silver with minimal metalic I could find. The shroud painted in aluminum/silver like paint. I kept the tanks clean brass. The core "Radiator Black".
On the way home from the previous owners farm September 2016.
2022 with 1926 shell and recore.
The reflectors are still pretty bright but in the photo there is a yellow/green foliage reflection. I have also had spare set of reflectors resilvered as well as a set of headlight buckets powdercoated. Now I am depressed just thinking of all the money I have spent on the cosmetics on my 2 cars. And they still need repainted!
