But, I have recently found (cheap!) a pair of covers (need paint and a little repair).
Has anyone tried to make a "faux-sidemount" car without changing the fenders? I would consider doing this just to give the appearance, without worrying about reinforcing the fenders to carry the extra tire weight.
Just an idea...any thoughts? Thanks! palbuick
I have a set of reproduction side mount braces for the 40 buick, Special and Century Series. I purchased these many years ago to use on my car, but decided long ago not to install sidemounts. If you look closely all the holes are drilled in the frame for the side mount brackets, from the factory. I think there are 4 brackets. Price is $ 75.00
plus shipping.
Jim Schilf / palbuick@aol.com
