Guest sintid58
I got the 58 out and drove it home from where it was stored the other day. Was on a two lane and looking at the countryside when I looked down at the speedometer I was going over 70 mph. Boy what a nice riding and driving car. Had to put in a radiator was getting hot at stop signs and pulled the old one out. core was shot. I can't seem to make the dash lights work and am pretty sure the headlight switch is bad. Anyone got any suggestions for other fixes that would be appreaciated. Other wise a suggestion as to where I could possibly find a new switch would be great. Looked at classic buicks and the buick farm and had no luck.
The Old Guy
Did you check the fuse? On some of these Buicks the dash lights and brake lights are on the same fuse. This was done so you knew if the brake lights were working. If the brake lights work, you can run a jumper from the tail light wire . Sometimes the dash light dimmer goes bad ,and rather than replace the light switch you can get the dash lights back this way . You can't dim them ,but you won't get nailed for speeding either, as you will be able to see the speedo
